The Apple iPad 2 was released Friday and it represents a major step forward from the original iPad 1. The iPad 2 includes a new 1GHz dual core Apple A5 processor, 512MB of RAM, a gyroscope, both front and rear facing cameras and a new, much thinner design.

However is it worth upgrading from the iPad 1? Is the iPad 2 better than the Motorola XOOM or Blackberry PlayBook?
